I love the way ‘cloche’ pompously rolls off the tongue (it comes from the French word for bell), and the way it seems have an inherently sultry purpose just from the way it sounds. As a fundamentally theatrical (and paradoxical) object, it exists both to both conceal and reveal its contents...perhaps rendering them even more desirable simply because they aren’t within immediate reach.

This spicy little set is my answer to the table spice vessel, perfect for salt + pepper or any other granular accoutrements that grace your dinner table. The theatrical nature of the CLOCHETTES conjures presence and attention, encouraging guests to interact with one another and with the vessels…and it’s just so much more fun than a plain old shaker.

Use these pointy pieces for spices, individual bonbons, an XXS amuse bouche, a capsule of sorts, or perhaps a small square…

The possibilities are tiny...but entirely limitless ♾️

DETAILS //

  • Glass

    Borosilicate glass. 2” diameter x 7.6” height.

    Vessels

    Earthenware clay. Approximately 1.5” diameter x 0.75” height.

  • Glass

    Remove gems carefully (push from the inside of glass rather than pulling from the outside). Wipe with warm soapy water, rinse carefully and dry with soft cloth before replacing gems.

    Vessels

    Wipe with damp cloth. Do not submerge in water. Not dishwasher or microwave safe.

  • Each set of clochettes is handmade in Chicago, each bowl handcrafted and fired to order/

    Lead time can vary according to material availability / studio workload: please allow up to 10 weeks for production + delivery.
